Mrs. Miller is a Nationally Certified Trainer in the areas of Growing Great Kids Curriculum, Preschool Growing Great Kids, Technical Assistance/Quality Improvement, Parent Survey/Family Assessment and is a Master Trainer/Mentor for GGK curriculum and Parent Survey Trainers. She has 40 years’ experience in the field of Social Work with 23 of those years spent in home visitation programs and policy development. In addition, she has 21 years’ experience in the implementation and supervision of the Growing Great Kids Curriculum. She is a committed advocate for families/children and strongly believes that children deserve childhoods that are full of love, security, play, laughter and self- confidence.
Mrs. Miller served as the first KY HANDS Training Coordinator and also as a State Trainer (Parent Survey, GGK, and Advanced Trainings) and Technical Assistance/Quality Improvement Specialist prior to her retirement from state government in 2010. She became the Executive Director of Great Kids Inc. from 2011-2015. She has also worked extensively in the area of Technical Assistance/Quality improvement around home visitation programs in the US and Canada (Provincial and Tribal). She retired from Great Kids Inc. in 2015 but has recently returned to KY HANDS and GKI to provide all of the above noted trainings.
Mrs. Miller is a graduate of University of Kentucky Master of Social Work program (1992) and went on to obtain her Clinical Social Work License in (1993). Her experience includes Juvenile Justice, Child and Adult Protection, Residential Services, Inpatient/Outpatient M/H and Substance Abuse, Adoption/Foster Care, Private Practice and Public Health.
Cheryl has one son, a step-daughter and 4 grandchildren. She loves time with friends and family, loves learning and new ideas and enjoys books, babies, dogs, music, travel and getting to know new faces and stories along the way.
