Alcohol & Drug Recovery Component
Hope Hill Children's Home is now offering an Alcohol and Drug Recovery Component under the direction of Scott Ross a Licensed Professional Certified Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor.
The program is a 12 step approach to holistic healing of the body, mind and spirit. Treatment focuses on the entire individual and not just one portion. We believe that if the entire body is not the focus then upon leaving the youth is not equipped to deal with the problems of life.
One of the four cottages on campus is dedicated to the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program. The cottage is locked secure and has a capacity of 12 residents.
The program consists of four groups. Each group is designed to address either a mental health diagnosis or a substance abuse diagnosis.
The program will utilize individual and group counseling as well as equine assisted therapy to enable our residents to have a greater chance at recovery from problems that a co-occurring diagnosis can cause.
The groups provided in the program will deal with issues of addiction, mental health, recovery and how to live without the use of substances.
It is expected that through providing this treatment we will give residents a better chance at a life after discharge.
A major obstacle that our youth face upon discharge is returning to an atmosphere where they were unsuccessful in the past. By giving them the tools that they need to lessen the chance of abuse or addiction, they can live a more productive life, thereby changing the lives of others in the future.
